Fairmont The Palm
Aptly named after its site, the iconic Palm Jumeirah, Fairmont The Palm Hotel and Residence is a flagship resort for global luxury hotel company, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. Opened in late 2012, the hotel features 381 guestrooms and suites and hosts luxurious amenities. The hotel is flanked by two residential towers, consisting of 558 deluxe apartments, townhouses and penthouses.
This landmark destination was achieved through a contemporary design brushed with Arabic influences, incorporating the natural elements of sand and sea, given the colour palate of beige, ecru, tan and light hues and natural building materials of granite and marble. The journey begins at the moment of arrival in the lobby, as guests experience unfettered views of the Arabian Gulf through a ceiling high window.
Unlike the typical vertical hotels found all around Dubai, Fairmont The Palm is horizontal, with a wide footprint stretched along the shoreline and a moderate 17-storey height. Though one single building, mechanically it is designed as if it was four different ones, with four fire safety systems (fire escape plans, smoke obstruction systems, etc.) and four separate mechanical systems.
